What is that one gadget that has made your life easier?

My Sh70,000 two in one Samsung washing machine WF906 series; washer and rinser.

How often do you use it?

On weekends when I am not at work.

Is washing on the weekends sufficient enough to have all your clothes cleaned?

Yes, since the machine has a large drum size of 9kgs that can accommodate a large capacity - of up to 40 adult size T-shirts - in a single wash. It is very suitable for large families.

What kind of clothes do you wash in it?

Just as the labels on the machine indicate, I have washed all kinds of clothes; baby clothes, duvets, dark garments. However, I am yet to try washing denims in it.

What do you love about the washing machine?

The fact that it has disinfectant capabilities, which is perfect for baby clothes and sheets especially for a mother like me with little babies.

What has been your experience like using the washing machine so far?

I have seen a significant saving on my water and electricity bills. This has been as a result of the Eco bubble technology. This technology works such that the machine generates bubbles by dissolving detergent with air and water before the normal cycle begins. By so doing, the perfectly dissolved detergent penetrates into fabric quickly, evenly and deeply hence saving energy.

What one thing did you not know about washing machines that you know now?

I did not know that the Eco bubble technology is also responsible for minimising damages even on delicate clothes because of the bubble cushion effect that allows for less mechanic action.

Besides lessening your workload, does the washer have any advantages over handwashing?

Definitely. When using the washing, the clothes fade less. Also sometimes hand washing leads to greater wear and tear especially when trying to remove stubborn stains. The washing machine uses less force removing the stain and gets better results.

Does it use less water than ordinary wash?

Yes it does save on water that would otherwise be used for rinsing during the normal wash. It uses two to three times less water. Also, it uses cold water, which means I do not have to heat water.

This version of the washing machine does not have a drier. Did you prefer one without a drier?

Yes I did. This is because once my clothes have been washed and rinsed, I only need to take them out for an hour for them to dry. While the clothes dry, they also get well aired and the stuffy smell synonymous with washing machines is eliminated.

Any challenge you have faced using the washing machine?

I am the only one using the machine at the moment and my house help can never use it because she does not know how to, but I will teach her with time.

What do you like most about the machine, of course, apart from the convenience it accords you.

Its buttons, which are easy to navigate and the LED display attracts the kids to play around it but I don't have to worry about this since it has a child lock that sorts out this easily.

What advice would you give a lady seeking to buy a washing machine?

Buy one that is easy to operate and that you can teach your kids how to use. When they are older, they will relieve you of the duty of doing laundry for them.
