A letter to those who condemn campus girls

For some time now, most of the things I hear about campus girls are negative, from dressing indecently to having the so called sponsors. When someone accuses these girls and condemns them for all the wrong doings, do they stop and ask themselves if they are perfect?

I believe these girls are not so stupid and they know what they are doing. Problem is, no one knows why they do what they do. We don’t know what they go through for them to make the kind of decisions they make. Most of them want to have fun, no harm in that, but again some do it out of necessity and not out of choice.

Before you condemn campus girls, try and also look at the positive things that may come. These are the same women who become career women and very successful than you can imagine. A girl has got to do what a girl has got to. You won’t hear people talking of campus men and the things they do while in campus, but you will be shocked when you get to hear of the things they do.

I am not trying to encourage campus girls to dress indecently and have the so called “sponsors”, but try not to condemn them because that will not help. In fact it hasn’t helped at all. Furthermore, when you say “campus girls dress indecently and are ill-mannered” do you mean all campus girls? Not all campus girls are what people portray them to be, so please do not generalize them.

It hurts me when I hear people say “the commercial sex workers are campus girls.” Did someone interview all the commercial sex workers and find out that they are campus girls? I don’t think so. The campus girls you condemn are your future bosses, wives and mother of your kids as well.

Campus girls are awesome, even if not all of them, most of them are. Before I went to campus, I was told of all the bad stories about how campus girls dress and behave, but really, most of what I saw, was the complete opposite.

So to you, who condemn campus girls, think first before doing it. Give these girls some credit for the good they do and what they become. You can’t tell me that you will feel okay when you have a daughter in campus and be comfortable when you hear all the bad things said about these girls. No one is perfect, and will ever be, campus girls will be here for a long time and not matter what you say, and they will succeed.

To the campus girls, I salute you for all the hard work you put. Have fun but be careful. Lastly don’t ever let anyone bring you down and tell you that you will never make, because you will.
