A section of ODM Nakuru Town West officials have threatened to decamp from the party if the duly elected officials are not allowed to take office.

Led by the branch chair, Mr George Omwembe, they warned ODM leader Raila Odinga not to allow a faction of handpicked officials to run affairs of the branch.

“The candidates who lost are the ones that are recognised by the party headquarters. We appeal to the party leader and the National Elections Board to correct this mistake,” said Mr Omwembe at a press conference.

However, the party headquarters had given the two factions a week to resolve the impasse. Yesterday, ODM County Secretary Charles Dulo confirmed that the Omwembe group were the bona fide officials.
