The Jubilee Alliance Party's decision to have former minister Noah Wekesa to steer the merger between the United Republican Party (URP), The National Alliance Party (TNA) and other parties affiliated to the Jubilee coalition has been termed as a plot to split the Luhya vote.

FORD Kenya national youth chairman Bernard Wakoli said there was mischief in Dr Wekesa's appointment and termed his acceptance of the post as betrayal to the community.

"What Wekesa has done goes against the grain because we agreed that we should first get a common party that we will baby-sit and present one candidate to represent us," he said.
