EACC officers raid Bungoma Governor’s office to obtain evidence in ‘wheelbarrow saga’

Officers from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) raided the Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka’s office to obtain relevant evidence in the ‘wheelbarrow saga’ among other corruption allegations in the county.

Since 4.00am today, the officers have been in the county after raiding and ransacking houses of four county officials:  Head of Procurement Mr. Jeremiah Muchembi; Chief Officer Housing Evans Fwamba; Head of Finance Oscar Ojwang and chief of staff Everret Wafula.

The officers are probing the 'Wheelbarrow' saga among other corruption allegations raised by the auditor general's report.

Bungoma County has been on spotlight for purchasing 10 wheelbarrows at a total cost of over Sh1 million with one wheelbarrow costing Sh109, 320 tax payer's money.
