Raila Odinga: William Ruto’s prayers being answered, those who implicated him at ICC confessing

NAIROBI: Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leader Raila Odinga has called upon the Director of Public Prosecutions to charge Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria for uttering illegal and malicious statements linking him to an alleged scheme that procured witnesses against Deputy President William Ruto at the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Raila has termed MP’s claims “a continued attempt by the political fellowship that Moses Kuria belongs to cover up their actions by yet again dragging his (Raila’s) name into the ICC issue”.

In distancing himself from the alleged participation in getting false testimony against Deputy President and the handing over of evidence to the ICC, Raila noted that recent prayer rallies for Ruto could be bearing fruit.

“It would appear that Ruto’s prayers are getting answered and his real enemies are giving themselves up without being cajoled or coerced,”Raila said in a statement adding that he believes the ‘confessions’ will go on until the real “Prince” who has been executing tactics against Ruto is exposed.

Raila wants Kuria charged for contravening both local and ICC laws against intent to mislead, making false statement, and fabricating evidence among others.

The CORD leader added that it was illogical to imply that he implicated Ruto who was his ally in the 2007 General Elections.
