Food hawking, eating in funerals banned as three die of Cholera in Kogelo

Siaya, Kenya: Three people have died and nine others hospitalised following a cholera outbreak in Siaya County.

The county director of health Owino Omondi said that the victims are all from Kogelo village.

The director added that the first case was reported on Tuesday and the patient died while receiving treatment at the county referral while the other two died today at home.

As a result, food hawking has been banned as well as eating in funerals in Kogelo and west Gem.
