Clerics have expressed concern over increased conflicts in churches, which they said should be shunned and instead Christians embrace dialogue and unity.

Christian Foundation Fellowship Bishop Harrison Ng'ang'a said the culture of conflict that has sometimes turned physical, should be a thing of the past in the church.

He spoke as some churches in the region are embroiled in conflict with accusations that the clergy are attacking their congregations. Bishop Ng'ang'a spoke shortly after he consecrated Murang'a Bishop George Kariuki at Mumbi grounds on Saturday.

"Violent incidents witnessed in some churches are discouraging and we need to seek ways to defuse the tension," said Bishop Kariuki.
