ATM workers leave bag containing Sh15 million on street pavements which is stolen minutes later

New Jersey, USA:  A man made off with a bag containing Sh15million cash after two dozy cash machine delivery men left it on a grass verge.

The stunned thief couldn't believe his luck when he spotted the bag on the kerb in New Jersey on Monday morning.

CCTV shows the suspect pass the money twice before he gets out of a white van and effortlessly swipes it.

The blundering ATM workers told police they realised their mistake 15 minutes after driving off but the bag was gone when they returned, CBS New York reported.

One of the men is believed to have been so panicked that police needed to call him an ambulance.

Mahwah Police Officer William Hunt said: "It was really just a stroke of luck, or misfortune, for them that this van happened to be driving by shortly after the money was left at the curb."

Police said the cash machine staff, who work for ATM For Us, are not considered suspects.

** A man was later arrested and charged with theft of mislaid property.

Alton Harvey, 42, is being held on $125,000 bail.
