Supportive to the end, Senator Mike Sonko took time and showed up at the Nyayo National Stadium to give his last respects and a warm send off to the late Benson Wanjau a.k.a Mzee Ojwang.
Speaking about the veteran Kenyan comedian who passed on two weeks ago after losing a battle to pneumonia at the Kenyatta Hospital, Sonko said that it was unfortunate that death robbed this country a great legendary actor who brought happiness to many homes.
Senator Sonko further went on to narrate how his admiration for Mzee Ojwang pushed him to clear the hospital bills with the help of President Uhuru Kenyatta a while back when the actor had lost his sight and was in need of immediate help.
While at it, the bold senator did not mince words in regards to the KBC, national broadcaster through which Mr, Ojwang built his brand on the vitimbi show. He insisted that the broadcaster should have been more supportive to the actor who had served for more than three decades in their local production.
Mzee Ojwang was buried at the Langata Cemetery.
