What next after President Barack Obama fever?

This past weekend is one that Kenyans will live to remember. The leader of the free world, President Obama, was at home and it was not politics as usual.

Security, which Kenyans yearn for, was at its peak. The capital was exceptionally clean.

The street families were cleared and taken to various rehabilitation centres. And for the first time in history, our very own Dynamo, alias Governor Evans Kidero, attempted what is arguably one of the greatest magical acts in history, conjure up grass in a matter of days!

We are yet to identify if the "Kidero grass" actually grew, but driving along Mombasa Road and Uhuru Highway suggests otherwise. In general, Nairobi County was given a makeover dubbed 'Obama care'.

So now the question is, will these same standards that evidently better our city be maintained throughout or will we regress to our typical state of affairs? We will wait and see.

Besides the tidiness, the entrepreneurship summit that brought Obama here was one of a kind. Hopefully, the summit prompted Kenyans to embrace the entrepreneurial spirit and come up with great ideas that boost our economy.

Also, during Obama's three-day stay, bilateral agreements, based on security, trade and energy were entered into. Indeed, Obama's visit was a great motivation for the country as he left a spirit of hope, inspiration and determination.

Let us hope that the devotion to upgrade our society will keep burning despite Obama's departure.
