Opposition leaders meet US President Barack Obama

Nairobi, Kenya -CORD leader Raila Odinga and the Opposition team have held a meeting with visiting US President Barack Obama.

The meeting took place at the VVIP Lounge at the Safaricom Sports Arena and lasted more than half an hour and included leaders of Wiper Democratic Party Kalonzo Musyoka, Ford-Kenya’s Moses Wetangula and Narc-Kenya’s Martha Karua.

Discussions focused on strengthening Devolution as a lifeline for a majority of Kenyans, protection for civil society and electoral reforms.

During the meeting, the Opposition leaders expressed satisfaction that President Obama had candidly addressed all the pressing issues holding the country back and that they feel strongly about.

The Opposition leaders however presented President Obama with a memorandum on the issues that the US should support Kenya to deal with comprehensively. They will unveil the details of the memo to President Obama tomorrow.
