Man jailed for raping drunk woman in a club toilet as she vomited

Bournemouth: A sexual predator who raped a drunk woman as she was lent over a toilet being sick into has been jailed for seven years.

Twisted Saeed Robleh took advantage of his victim in a Travelodge bathroom when she became ill following a cocktail of drink and drugs.

The 34-year-old, who denied assault by penetration and one count of rape, was found guilty by a jury at Bournemouth Crown Court.

The woman, aged in her 20's, was a guest at the Travelodge on Christchurch Road in Bournemouth, Dorset, when she was attacked by the defendant as she leaned over the toilet of her room's en-suite bathroom.

Robleh, of Octavia Way in Staines, Surrey, had taken cocaine during the night before the assault.

Judge Peter Johnson said the rape had affected the victim greatly.

He said: "You have caused her serious harm and the effect of that will continue to affect her for many years to come."

The judge said the woman had not wished to be alone with Robleh in the hotel room before the rape.

"Others were just outside the door when you raped her," he added.

"When you were challenged by another you pretended nothing had happened."

The court heard part of the victim's impact statement, in which she said she had been left "traumatised", adding: "At times I have resorted to drinking and taking drugs to block out the memories."

Jon Mitchell, defending, said: "This rape was entirely opportunistic.

"Mr Robleh was taking advantage of the young woman while she was inconvenienced over a lavatory and as a result there was no violence beyond, of course, the violence of the sexual act itself.

"He has reached the age of 34 and this is the first sexual offence that he has been charged with.

"He is no stranger to criminality. His life revolves around drugs and the majority of his previous convictions are for drugs but this is the first sexual offence.

"His behaviour was simply a repeated activity as the victim was already engaged in taking drugs."

Robleh was sentenced to seven years for rape and five years for assault by penetration, to run concurrently, totalling seven years.

He is already serving a 54-month jail term for possession with intent to supply 34.5g of crack cocaine.

The defendant was found to be in possession of around £3,500-worth of the class A drug on May 5 2014, and was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court on March 18 of this year, ahead of his trial in Bournemouth.

He will serve the two terms consecutively for a total of 11 and a half years.
