Tuju calls on Luos to work with Jubilee government

Former Rarieda MP Raphael Tuju has asked the Luo community to exercise humility and tolerance.

Speaking at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology on Sunday during a church service, Mr Tuju, who is President Uhuru Kenyatta's advisor, said the Luo community risks being left behind in all spheres of development if they continue opposing the government of the day.

"As political temperatures continue to heighten in the country ahead of the 2017 polls, leaders should play a noble role of promoting co-existence," said Tuju.

The former minister for Foreign Affairs in former President Mwai Kibaki's government, thanked the Jubilee administration for fairness in the appointment of public officers.

"This Government appointed our two daughters, Rachel Omamo and Akinyi Wenwa as Cabinet secretary for Defence and board member at Kemri. We are thankful," said Tuju.

Turning to Deputy President William Ruto who attended the church service, Tuju said, "Kuna barua ya kuomba kazi nimetuma hapo kwa ofisi yako, ukipata tafadhali uiangalie vizuri (There's an application letter I've already sent to your office, if you get it, please consider it fairly)."
