NAKURU: Tuskys Supermarket has launched the Tuskys Foundation programme that aims to improve the lives of society's less fortunate.

Speaking at the supermarket chain's silver jubilee celebrations in Nakuru, CEO Daniel Githua said the foundation would be run separate from the main business.

"The foundation will, among other endeavours, come up with ways to help children from poor families access education," he said.

Chairman John Kamau applauded the Government, saying it had provided a conducive business platform.

He welcomed Government's move to lower the cost of electricity, saying it had helped expand the business that employs more than 6,000 people from different regions and communities.

"Industrialsation has been improved by the affordable supply of electricity, which enables businesses to operate smoothly," he said.

Also present were different directors and the supermarket founder's wife, Hannah Kamau, who told youths to venture into small businesses.
