A young girl was in tears as the president's motorcade made its way out of Katulu primary School, in Machakos. She was among the pupils in the crowd that was waving at the president as he made his way to out of the institution.
The tearing girl caught President Uhuru Kenyatta’s eye who asked the her to be allowed to shake his hand. The moment was captured on camera as tears betrayed the young girl’s excitement.
She won herself a moment with the president as the overwhelmed girl posed for the picture with him.
The president was in the county to officially launched the Last Mile Connectivity Project and commissioned the Schools Electrification Project.
Dennis Itumbi captioned the following on the photos:
“While leaving Katulu Primary School yesterday, The President spotted a girl in the crowd crying for seeing him. He asked the girl be allowed to shake his hand...there were no cameras but somehow the moment was captured”
