A driver of a popular matatu belonging to a sacco for PSV vehicles plying the Umoja route has found himself on the wrong side of the law after he allegedly attacked his girlfriend.

The court heard that Harron Kyalo attacked Violet Alibisya, 28, his long-time girlfriend, after she busted him having sex with another woman on May 9.

Police said that Violet, who was badly beaten by the accused, had rented the house, not knowing that the accused was sneaking other women into the residence behind her back.

In her statement, she claimed that she had been living with her mother in Umoja until she decided to rent the house.

According to Violet, she arrived home at around 7am with the intention of surprising her boyfriend, only to find him naked in bed with another woman.

The prosecution said the accused at first refused to open the door. He allegedly got out of the house naked before attacking Violet as the other woman escaped.

Neighbours reportedly  came to the rescue of Violet who suffered injuries on the head and stomach. She is said to have sought treatment at a nearby clinic before reporting the matter to police.

Kyalo denied the charges. The matter will be mentioned on June 4.
