Ronaldo wants Real Madrid to offer manager Ancelotti a new contract

Cristiano Ronaldo has tweeted his support for Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti.

The Madrid winger has hinted that he would like to work with Ancelotti again next season, despite the fact that the Italian's contract runs out next month.

Ancelotti will find out in the coming weeks whether he will be kept on as manager at the Bernabeu, but he is widely expected to depart the club.

Former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is the leading candidate to take control of Los Blancos next season, returning to the club where he started his coaching career with Real Madrid B.

But Ronaldo is seemingly insistent that he would like to see Ancelotti back at the club next season.

On the tweet, he wrote: "Great coach and amazing person. Hope we work together next season."

Ronaldo netted a first-half hat-trick in the final-day 7-3 win over Getafe - but the sides still went in level at 3-3 at the break.

But goals from Javier Hernandez, James Rodriguez, Jese and Marcelo secured the dominant victory for Madrid, who finish second in the table behind Barcelona, just two points behind champions Barcelona.

Ronaldo was later replaced by 16-year-old Norwegian Martin Odegaard, who became the youngest player to feature for Madrid in La Liga.
