Man pronounced dead started moving when being taken to the mortury

A man declared dead at his flat began moving - just as he was being taken to the morgue.

Thomas Sancomb was found collapsed, cold and unresponsive when they arrived at his flat in Wisconsin, Milwaukee, American media reports.

They had been called out by the 46-year-old's girlfriend, who was concerned as he has an 'ongoing serious medical condition' and she had been unable to contact him.

According to WISN 12 News, Mr Sancomb was cold to the touch and no attempt was made to resuscitate him.

An hour later transport arrived to taken the 'dead body' away to be properly examined.

That's when emergency workers had the shock of their lives - Mr Sancomb started to move.

He began breathing while his right arm and leg moved, according to a medical examiner's report obtained by the channel.

The fire department was called back to the scene, found a pulse and then ferried him to hospital where he remains.

The man's brother told WISN 12 News his brother is "not out of the woods yet" and is in intensive care.

He explained his sibling had a thyroid problem, which put him in a coma and dropped his body temperature to around 28C.

An investigation into the handling of the bizarre incident is ongoing.
