KFC put disposable keyboards in its trays to save smartphone screens from greasy fingers

Hungry punters will be glad to see KFC is moving with the time. The fried chicken chain lined its serving trays with disposable Bluetooth keyboards for a marketing stunt.

The idea behind it is the tray syncs up to your smartphone, allowing you tap away to messages mid-meal without getting greasy fingerprints all over your phone screen.

Nicknamed the "Tray Typer", the super-slim Bluetooth keyboard is thin and light enough that it can actually be folded over.
And according to Serviceplan - the company behind the idea - the Tray Typers have been so popular that every single one has been taken home.

Well, it beats a grease-absorbing scrap of paper any day, doesn't it?

Sadly, the techy treat was only available at KFC Germany and the whole campaign only ran for a week.

Although, we can certainly foresee a couple of problems with KFC's plan - what happens if your phone times out and you need to restart the screen? Or you need to swap apps because you've got a WhatsApp message instead of an email?

Still, props to KFC for trying to make the fried chicken dining experience a little more futuristic. We'd go so far as to say it's finger clickin' good.
