The 26-year-old stylist shares her styling passion in Pulse Magazine as a fashion journalist and entertainment writer. Her blog, which started in 2013, serves as a vehicle for sharing her personal style and that of her two-year-old daughter. So far she has received three awards for her blog.
Lucia Musau The mother of one, whose wish is to style the First Lady one day, got into fashion blogging when her sister took a photo and posted it on Facebook. When questions started streaming in on who she was, she seized an opportunity to start up a blog. She believes there are no rules in fashion, but how one dresses is a form of communication without words.
Sharon Mundia She ventured into the blogosphere in 2012 as a way of distracting herself after a messy breakup from her then cheating boyfriend. Little did she know that the distraction would win her awards among them Fashion Blogger of the Year (2014) at the Bake Awards and attract endorsements such as being the face of the Samsung A series, and Store 66. She even landed a job at Capital FM. She has since graced the cover of local magazines and recently got engaged to boyfriend Lonina.
Nancie Mwai She has received international recognition for her diversity in fashion even being named one of the favourite bloggers from around the world by Conde Naste’s Lucky magazine. She is a two-time Bake award winner and recently landed an endorsement as 2015’s Brand Ambassador for the iconic brand Adele Dejak. Now a mother, she started blogging as a hobby and later quit her job to blog full time.
Joy Kendi The actress-cum-fashion blogger aims through her blog to show people that fashion does not have to be expensive to be stylish. It is for this reason she not only demonstrates how to repurpose old clothes through her DIY tutorials, but also where and how to source cheaper options. She also has a thing for baring her midriff... not that we are complaining. She has been nominated for various awards as well and featured in local magazines.
Miss Kibati She started blogging as a hobby and it ended up as a platform to inspire and motivate. Now, she is involved in endorsing products from Kunga’ra.
Olav Arthur Mburu His passion for fashion led him to start The Lifestyle Spread. Apart from showcasing his personal style, he is involved in styling and fashion shoot choreography. He is also a wine and food connoisseur and was nominated for the Swahili Fashion Week, East African Fashion Journalist of the Year award in 2014.
Anita Mogere Referring to herself as a plus-size fashion blogger, she started her personal fashion journey to inspire other curvy women to break fashion rules and dress in what they like.
Franklin Saiyalel Besides constantly doing research on the Internet and keeping abreast with content in fashion magazines to enable him predict fashion trends, which is vital to his followers who are always looking to be part of a trend, he also designs Made To Measure suits. He tailors suits to the customer’s needs including bespoke fabric, patterns, collars, lapel styles, pocketing, cuffs and colours.
