Lobby group aims to register 7 million JAP members

Murang'a, Kenya - The Jubilee Alliance Party (JAP) has formed a lobby group to recruit more than seven million members by next year.

The lobby group, dubbed JAP-Reloaded, is set to launch the recruitment drive in the 10 counties of the Mt Kenya region.

Officials have urged leaders in both The National Alliance (TNA) and United Republican Party (URP) to shelve their differences and help with the registration.

Lobby secretary James Mwangi urged the youth to get identity cards immediately to help in the registration process.

Speaking in Murang'a over the weekend, Mr Mwangi said the lobby group had a sound leadership structure with representation in all the counties.

In Murang'a County, he said, musicians were leading the recruitment drive in support of the party associated with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
