Danny Ings could find himself choosing between Man United and Liverpool

Manchester United have become the favourites to sign Danny Ings, according to the Telegraph.

It is reported that Louis van Gaal has instructed executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to pursue a move for Ings after being impressed by the 23-year-old during Burnley's 3-1 defeat at Old Trafford in February.

It was widely believed that Liverpool were in pole position to sign the Burnley striker at the end of the season, but United appear to be doing all they can to push through a move.

Ings is out of contract at the end of the current season and Liverpool were going to pounce, but it is reported that United have made contact with the Clarets in order to hurry through a move.

Ings is considered to be a future England international and has scored nine goals in the Premier League this season.
