Manchester United have received a blow in their pursuit of Edinson Cavani after he insisted he is committed to Paris Saint-Germain.

The PSG hitman has been linked with a move to Old Trafford as Louis van Gaal looks for a replacement for Radamel Falcao, the Manchester Evening News reports.

But after PSG's 3-1 home defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League quarter-final first leg, the 28-year-old rubbished talk of a move away from the French capital.

He said: "There is too much talk about my future but I will remain here."
