Youth's plea over Jubilee pledges

The TNA National Youth leadership has asked Jubilee MPs from Nairobi to support youth entrepreneurs in Nairobi to enable President Uhuru Kenyatta deliver his elections promise.

Mr Joseph Wanjohi, the TNA National Youth League Chairman said it is disappointing for Jubilee MPs to sabotage the party  agenda by frustrating youth entrepreneurship in Nairobi.

''We want to warn a section of Jubilee MPs in Nairobi who are frustrating youth entrepreneurship in Nairobi that we will not sit back and watch as they surpress youth in Nairobi," said Wanjohi.

Mr. Wanjohi said it is most unfortunate that some MPs were derailing the Jubilee agenda of creating jobs and opportunities for Nairobi youth by resorting to acts of hooliganism.

"We are aware that there are many disputes involving MPs like Maina Kamanda and youth entrepreneurs in Nairobi and we want to warn Kamanda to desist from sabotaging the President,'' said Wanjohi.

Wanjohi said it is now in the public domain that Kamanda is frustrating the beatification and rehabilitation of the Nairobi Railways terminus because of selfish interests.

"We have evidence that Kamanda is unhappy that a young man got a contract to rehabilitate the Nairobi Railways terminus and we want to declare our solidarity with Top Max Media who have lost over Sh20 million as a result of the MP's moves,'' said Wanjohi.

Mr Wanjohi congratulated Nairobi County Governor Evans Kidero for working with youth entrepreneurs irrespective of their political interests.

"The governor has done well in supporting youth entrepreneurs and we ask him to protect them from marauding politicians" said Mr Wanjohi.

Mr Peter Warutere, the owner of Top Max Media that is involved in a dispute has since gone to court to bar Kamanda from interfering with the project.

Justice David Onyancha gave orders stopping Kamanda from interfering with the beautification project pending final court determination.

The beatification project will create 500 direct jobs and the multiplier effect will affect over 3000 people besides offering passengers convenient facilities.
