Handball: Professional players expected to join camp

Dannish-based Kenyan International handball player Bryan Oduor who moved to division one team Stoholm from Mors Thy Handbol in the 2013/2014 season and Finnish-based goalkeeper Ywaya Cadge who turns out for second division Kiffen handball club are expected in the country to join the national team in preparations for the All African Games (AAG) qualifiers set for 7-13 next Month.

“At this juncture, I have already gotten into the system but during my initial years, it was a bit difficult with a different language and a people whom you are not used to. My team mates used to encourage me in trainings and in games, given that my level was a bit wanting, but then I drastically improved with their support and became a core member of the team,” said Ywaya.

Oduor featured for Mors Thy’s first team in the Danish Masters League and also appeared for the Division Two team and was voted Most Valuable Player by Mors in the 2012/2013 season.

It will be a big boost for the team if the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) players join the team which is expected to boost the morale of other young players in the squad.

The men national team has not been performing well compared to the women when it comes to continental assignments and they have a chance to stun their opponents and qualify for the AAG in Brazzaville later in the year in the absence of Egypt who were given a direct qualification by the Confederation of Handball (CAHB).
