Kisumu hotels record booming business

The hotel industry in Kisumu County has recorded a booming business as visitors make their way to the region ahead of Christmas.

The region, which has bed capacity of about 2,000 so far, has recorded between 60 and 70 per cent bed occupancy, an increase of ten per cent last year, at the same time.

Industry players link the surge to posh hotels, which have sprung in the region. According to the Leader of Western Kenya Hospitality Robinson Anyal, the industry is expected to do even better in coming months. "We expect it to continue growing beyond festive season," he said.
