Nairobi, Kenya: AFC Leopards are holding out for more money before releasing influential midfielder Bernard Mangoli to join Posta Rangers for the 2015 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) season.

Mangoli is one of the top players targeted by Rangers who earned promotion this year.

Leopards are demanding Sh550,000 for the player while Rangers are prepared to offer Sh300,000 but it is expected the two clubs will soon reach an agreement as the player has just a few months remaining on his contract.

Rangers chairman John Tonui said this is what is holding back negotiations for the player to cross over to them.

“There is a stalemate in our negotiations because Leopards want more money than we are willing to offer but I am confident the issues can be resolved soon,” said Tonui.

He further revealed a contract dispute between Chemelil Sugar's midfielder Gearshon Likonoh is delaying the player’s move to Rangers.

“According to Likonoh, his contract is supposed to end on December 2014 but his club insists it is December 2015 and this is holding back negotiations,” Tonui said.
