A controversial city prophetess has claimed leaders who support indecent attire may soon face God’s wrath.

Jemima Wangari, 42, who has been preaching around Hotel Ambassadeur and City Hall areas for more than five years, told The Nairobian that allowing women to dress in a provocative and seductive manner was akin to mocking God and might result lead to serious consequences in Kenya.

“I was shocked to hear some influential leaders encouraging women to dress the way they wish. Women in Nairobi are now walking almost naked and this is a very sad state,” she said.

The mother of four claimed she was angered by some skimpily dressed women she bumped into and even attempted to strip them.

“I recently tried to strip two young women in Eastlands who were scantily dressed to teach them lesson, but they fled. I support men who strip these women, as long as they do not assault them,” she said.

The prophetess, who once used to preach around State House and government offices before being arrested, says that allowing women to dress the way they want, is the same as promoting prostitution.

She says Kenya needs to be guided by moral principles as stipulated in the Bible.

“I felt bad when Senator Sonko said he is ready to pay Sh200, 000 for anyone who will report those stripping women.

If women are allowed to dress the way they want, then we are promoting immorality,” she complained, adding that, “It pains me that women leaders, including MPs and some vocal women representatives, are supporting this kind of behaviour yet they ought to be role models.”

The prophetess subscribes to no particular denomination and claims that she got saved after dropping out at class six. She discloses that she has spent many a cold night in police cells for preaching.
