One shot dead, another seriously wounded by bandits in Baringo

Baringo, Kenya: One person has been shot dead and another seriously wounded after suspected Pokot bandits laid an ambush in Kosile area near Loruk in Baringo County.

The deceased, a boda boda rider, died on the spot after he was shot at Kosile while the wounded is said to have been attacked and shot on the thigh at Loruk Trading Center. Loruk is a border town between Tiaty and Baringo North constituencies.

Loruk Chief Samwel Kamuren confirmed the incident saying the wounded has been rushed to Marigat Sub-County Hospital.

There is massive exodus in the border district as residents, ravaged by sustained decades of bandit attacks, flee their homes for fear of fresh attacks.
