State told to beef up security at borders

Kapenguria MP Samuel Moroto has urged the government to beef up security along the country's borders to prevent terror attacks.

Moroto said there was need for the government to be proactive all the time.

The MP noted that Kenyan laws allow suspects to be released on bond, which fuels the problem.

"Arresting these youths is not going to help because our law allows suspects to be released on bond. You never know what they do after release," he said.

The legislator was speaking yesterday at Tamugh in Sook division when he met his constituents.
