Nairobi's latest celebrity couples

shamim

In what happens to be the latest celebrity love affair, celebrated beauty queen Shamim Nabil will celebrate her wedding to heartthrob Fahim Mohammed during an invite-only event to be held in Nairobi tomorrow.

The couple already exchanged vows in a ceremony in Zanzibar a couple of days ago, and this Nairobi ceremony is simply a formal affair for their close friends. The party will then continue in Machakos on Sunday.

The couple announced the surprise love affair when hawk-eyed paparazzi put them on the spot as they strutted the red carpet during the Miss World Kenya ceremony last weekend.“It is official. I am taken,” the clearly smitten Shamim told Pulse as the two remained hip-to-hip exchanging pleasant glances as the lenses flashed away.

Fahim, a rather laid-back man was the man of the moment as he received congratulatory handshakes from celebs who wished the two well in their wedding and married life.

Besides family members, the wedding ceremony will be graced by close friends mostly from the glamour industry.

And it is not only Shamim who is off the market. Pulse has also learned that Shamim’s predecessor Susan Anyango, Miss Kenya 2011, has already settled down with her Nigerian boyfriend, who is rumoured to have bought her a house in an uptown Nairobi estate. The two attended the Miss World Kenya ceremony last week but managed to escape paparazzi’s attention as they never sat at the same table.

In the same week, another former Miss World Kenya crown holder Cecilia Mwangi hinted that she could be legalising her union with her baby daddy, former minister Danson Mungatana.

Two weeks ago, two TV girls Brenda Mwai and the charming Janet Mbugua got hitched only a few months after celebrated gospel singer Rufftone went down the aisle with his girlfriend of many days Krystal. Before they officiated their union, radio girl Amina and John Rabar announced that they were husband and wife.

One union that seems to have escaped media attention is that of former TPF lovebirds Steve Nyabwa and Lydia, who hosted friends to a Sh5 million shindig at Safari Park Hotel four months ago.

The two also attended the Miss World Kenya ceremony and managed to steal media attention as they flirted throughout the glitzy event.

Then there is Amani who is warming up to her fiancé Chinasa Udeala, a Nigerian businessman. The two, who are believed to be cohabiting, have hinted on tying the knot. Need we add Avril and her South Africa boo?
