President Uhuru Kenyatta warns over attacks on security forces

President Uhuru Kenyatta has condemned the attack on security personnel in Turkana and Baringo.

President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned that his Government will not tolerate attacks on security forces and vowed to ensure those involved will face the law.

Referring to the attacks in Baringo County in which three General Service Unit officers and two civilians were killed and another officer injured, the President said the Government will not stop "until the barbaric, primitive criminals are brought to book".

"Already, a major operation is underway in the area. I encourage all officers involved to ensure the criminals are apprehended and processed accordingly.  I also call upon our security forces to employ all measures necessary within the rule of law to maintain sustainable security within our country," he said.

"These attacks on the State and the security forces are a threat to our stability and undermine the epitome of authority in all civilised society, the world over. Such attacks are inconceivable, unacceptable and will not be tolerated at any cost, by my administration," he added.

The Head of State however said over the last four months the security situation in the country had stabilised significantly.
