Health PS says Kenya ready to combat deadly ebola

Nairobi; Kenya: The Government has put in place measures to ensure airlines entering and leaving the country do not expose Kenyans to the deadly Ebola virus.

Health Principal Secretary Dr Khadijah Kassachon said the airlines are also supposed to adhere to other international health protocols to ensure the virus is not spread.

Speaking after presiding over a free medical clinic in Kieni, Nyeri County, Kassachon said Kenya is not at risk of contracting the killer disease, noting that people entering the country either using aircraft or other border points are screened. "We have put up necessary disease surveillance in all border points and airports and Kenyans should not panic," she said.
