My life is in danger, Kajiado MCA says

Kajiado County Assembly has set up a committee to investigate death threat claims to a ward representative over a land scandal.

The committee will investigate text messages and phone calls allegedly made by a senior officer at the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries warning Kitengela/Sholinke Ward representative Daniel Kanchori to keep off the land.

County Assembly Speaker Johnson Osoi confirmed that the committee will start its work as soon as possible.

According to Mr Kanchori, a senior officer at the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries called him two days ago warning him to keep off the government land in Kitengela town.

“I was warned by a government official known to me to keep off the controversial land or else something would happen to me,’’ said the concerned MCA.

Kanchori has since recorded a statement at Kitengela Police Station. The piece of land in question is at the centre of controversy between the Kajiado County Government and the Ministry of Livestock over ownership.
