Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka turns heat on Wiper MCAs for betraying him

Former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka has accused Wiper Members of the County Assembly (MCAs) from Machakos County of betraying the party.

Kalonzo said it was unfortunate that the same leaders who ascended to power on the party ticket had insulted him at public forums, where they were allegedly compromised to divert their political affiliation.

Speaking when he presided over the Okoa Kenya Initiative launch at Nzaikoni market in Kathiani constituency, the Wiper party leader told the errant MCAs to either tow the line or quit the party. ''It is either you style up or quit as there is no room for traitors in our party,'' said the CORD co-principal.

Musyoka said some of the MCAs, especially the nominated ones, had agreed to be compromised by foreign trips to disown the party. He said the party leadership was working on a strategy to crack the whip on the defiant and dishonest leaders.

Musyoka who was accompanied by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana, Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior and Machakos Deputy Governor Bernard Kiala said CORD would not turn back until it achieves its goal of pushing for the amendment of the Constitution.

He said the current level of tribalism in the country was too alarming. ''One of the best way to deal with the menace is to amend the Constitution and rid it of some clauses which give the Executive absolute power to exploit Kenyans on a tribal basis, '' he said.

He urged the community to back the referendum and shun divisive politics by a few of the region's leaders. Kibwana defended Musyoka from his critics, saying he was the community's leader and should be accorded support and respect.
