Administration Police officer stabbed in love triangle

Nyeri, Kenya: An Administration Police officer is admitted at a Nyeri hospital in critical condition after he was stabbed by a matatu driver, who allegedly found him in a compromising situation with his wife.

The AP was allegedly caught pants downs by the woman's husband in the couple's home in Naromoru.

According to Kieni OCPD Ancent Kaloki, the AP sergeant was stabbed several times in the stomach and neck by the enraged husband, a matatu driver based in Nairobi.

Neighbours said the matatu driver had laid a trap for the police officer after learning about his randy behaviour from his colleagues and friends.

"It is something that has been going on and the man wanted to find out for himself. He lied that he was going back to Nairobi but did not travel," said a neighbour.

The witness, who did not want to be named, said that the man stormed the house only to find the AP in a compromising situation with his wife.

Kaloki said after a confrontation that attracted a large crowd, the officer was stabbed by the jilted husband.

The OCPD said the woman, who is a nurse at a local hospital and the husband have been locked up at the Naromoru Police station for further investigations.

"We are trying to find out what really happened. The officer was rushed to Nyeri Provincial General hospital where he is recuperating," Kaloki said
