Ol Kalou police arrest a man found selling bhang in a shop disguised to be carrying out mobile money transfer.

OL KALOU: Police in Nyandarua Central have arrested a middle aged man and recovered several rolls of bhang of unknown value which was being sold in an M-Pesa Agent shop at Rurii trading centre.

Police acting on a tip off from members of the public laid an ambush and managed to arrest the suspect as he sold the illegal herb to a police officer posing as a customer.

According to area OCPD Wilson Koskei, the suspect disguising to operate an M-Pesa shop has been selling bhang to his customers.

"It is shocking that this man has been selling bhang in the shop where he disguised as an M-Pesa agent," said Koskei.

The OCPD noted that the area has been on spotlight for all the wrong reasons saying that only early in the morning that another man was attacked and inured by un-known criminals while another person identified as "Saitoti" was killed in similar circumstances after he was stabbed several times.

Koskei lamented that the shopping centre has been a centre of criminal activities saying security agents will mount an operation to weed them out.

He added that residents have failed to provide crucial information to the authorities to enable them fight crime.

The police boss further said residents in the area do not turn up for public barazas where such information can be shared.

The suspect is now being held at Ol-Kalou police station and would be arraigned in court as soon as investigations area completed.
