MP Moses Kuria wants CS Amina Mohamed sanctioned over failure to withdraw Kenya from ICC

NAIROBI KENYA: Gatundu South Member of Parliament Moses Kuria has filed a motion with the Leader of Majority to summon the Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Amina Mohamed for “her failure to make sure Kenya withdraws from the International Criminal Court”.

Kuria said that parliament passed a motion on December 15, 2010 requiring Kenya to withdraw from ICC, after the court commenced trials against four Kenyans who were suspected to have played part in the 2008 Post Election Violence among the current President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.

A Similar motion was also passed last year by parliament the 11th parliament.

The fierce first time MP said that the CS will appear before parliament on 14th October and explain why she should not be sacked for ignoring the National Assembly.

The House recently made amendments requiring Cabinet Secretaries to appear before it to answer questions on behalf of their respective ministries.

The legislator made the remarks in Gatundu Christian Church during a special service to pray for the nation and the constituents of Gatundu South.
