Cricket Kenya urges Janmohammed to rescind her decision

Cricket Kenya (CK) has broken its silence over the resignation of chairperson Jackie Janmohamed by admitting that she had requested to step down.
CK Vice chairman Anil Patel confirmed that Janmohamed sent her letter of resignation citing personal reasons after being at the helm of the body since December 2012.

But according to Patel, CK executive members have asked Janmohammed to rescind her decision.
“CK wishes to state its stand on the recent reports circulating that the chairperson Janmohamed had resigned from her position,” Patel said in a letter sent to the media yesterday.

According to Patel, the resignation letter was sent on July 25, 2014.
“With the general feeling that these reasons were not insurmountable we requested her to consider rescinding her decision,” the letter said.

Patel said that as elected members, they consulted widely and called a council meeting to deliberate over the matter.
