Hollywood police recruit cartoon officer to help them 'engage with the public'

Holywood Neighbourhood Policing Team have launched an initiative aimed at highlighting the activity of their officers. Camera On Patrol involves officers posting photographs of various locations they have been in the Holywood area on the Facebook page and encouraging local residents to guess where it is.
Constable Harry Wood, a special cartoon police officer will appear in all the photographs.
Explaining the initiative, Constable Claire Murray from the Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "Over recent months, we have been looking at ways we can engage with the local community through our Facebook page. Every now and again we have been posting photos of us in different places and encouraging our followers to guess where we are.
"This was so well received that we decided to make it more of a regular feature and C.O.P with Constable Harry Wood is the perfect way to do it.
"By posting these photos, we are highlighting to the local community that we are out and about, keeping everyone safe, keeping a close eye out for any sort of criminal activity and dealing with the issues that matter most to you.
"The initiative was launched on Facebook last Wednesday and so far, Constable Wood has been photographed at four locations, all of which have been guessed correctly by members of the local community.
"To date, more than 2,000 people have seen the posts with a number of people also liking them. There has also been a number of positive comments, including one person who described it as a 'great way to communicate with the public'."
