Nandi Bears to host KFS tourney, Crown Paints for Machakos

The fourth Kenya Forest Service (KFS) Golf Day will be held today at the green lush Nandi Bears Golf Club.

The event has so far attracted an impressive turnout in the the three clubs it has hosted with over 120 golfers participating. This year, KFS has held golf days in Nakuru, Thika and Nyanza golf clubs.

The KFS golf days are meant to sensitise golfers on the importance of tree growing and conservation as part of the activities of the green schools and commercial tree growing initiative launched by President Uhuru Kenyatta last year.

KFS says the events assist golfers access critical information on forestry enterprises besides access to quality seedlings and useful contacts for forestry enterprise management and development.

The Service has so far been able to effectively provide seedlings which have been planted in various golf courses and sports clubs that have hosted the series.

The Nandi Bears event hopes to accelerate this campaign. Other golf events set for today are the Rapid Communications Day at Muthaiga Golf Club and Theresiah Nyambura Memorial in Thika.

Sigona will also host the Friends of the Spears, while Eaton Electric event will be at the Royal nairobi.

Kiambu will host the Inooro Golf Day while Vet Lab will stage the Sweet bana Golf Day.

In Nyali, Pan Africa Life Cancer Challenge golf will take place as I&M Bank Golf Day will be at Nyeri Golf Club.

Crown Paints will sponsor an event at Machakos, while Commercial Bank of Africa will be at the Nyanza Golf Club. Club Chairman Ochieng’ Abungu said the course is ready for the event and urged more sponsors to take their events to Nyanza.
