President Uhuru Kenyatta seeks to deepen trade ties with Spain

President Uhuru Kenyatta has rooted for closer trade ties between Kenya and Spain and Australia. Speaking during a farewell meeting with Spanish Ambassador Javier Herrera at State House, the President welcomed Spanish investors in the country's infrastructure projects, citing the 2,000km road construction programme as open to investment.

Bidding farewell to Austrian envoy Christian Hasenbichler, he reiterated Kenya's commitment to increase its cooperation with the country at bilateral and multi-lateral levels. He said recent discovery of oil, gas and other minerals heralded new areas of investment for Australia.
