AFC goalkeeper Kasaya dumped by girlfriend

Sports

Adhiambo Kisero

The Nairobian reported that famous soccer female fan Caroline Kisero had left her husband Stephen Ochola, the Ulinzi Stars captain, for then Sony Sugar goalkeeper, Wycliffe Kasaya.

That was in July 2013 when she said: “Yes, I have been going out with Kasaya for close to two months now. His marriage broke down, and I was there for him like he was there for me when mine broke down. So we found ourselves together,” Caroline was reported saying at the time.

But it appears things have fallen apart and Kisero has now left her beau, the AFC Leopards and Harambee Stars keeper, Wycliffe Kasaya. In fact, word has it that she walked out ‘with everything’ - swept the house clean, something that has irked Kasaya.

She was jobless

Swept the house clean

“I took half of the down payment I got when I transferred to AFC, gave it all to her to get a house and buy stuff. Now she has swept the house clean and left with everything. My heart bleeds. When I met her, she was jobless and heartbroken. We have stayed together through thick and thin. There is nothing I haven’t done for her,” says Kasaya.

But Kisero says everything changed when Kasaya made it to the big league and started earning good money.

“Unajua nilipata Kasaya akiwa anakaaje akiwa Sony? (Do you know the kind of life he was leading when I met him while he was still playing for Sony?). He had given up on life and even told me he saw no reason to live. We used to sleep on the floor and eat Sh20 lunch, which we got on credit from the local kiosk most of the time.

Things were bad during his days at Sony, but we were happily in love and shared whatever little we had. I accepted him as he was. But all that changed when he started making some good money,” says Caroline.

In December 2013, Kasaya signed a one-and-a-half-year contract with AFC Leopards, a deal which would see him become one of the highest-paid goalkeepers in Kenya. Caroline blames the move from Sony to Leopards for their broken love.

“I did not cheat on him and our reasons to part ways have nothing to do with infidelity. I don’t know where to start. We argued a lot, at times over money. Then he started being disrespectful to me,” she explained.

It is over

Caroline says things nosed south when Kasaya threatened to throw her out.

“That was it. I had had enough. I asked him on what capacity would he kick me out, yet he only walked into the house with a mere suitcase. I picked Kasaya from the CECAFA camp and brought him into the house with nothing, yet here he was calling me good for nothing. Everything in that house was mine, from the tissue paper to the furniture.

That’s when I decided to move out. The following morning, I packed everything and left,” she adds.

Kasaya, however, says Caroline is being economical with the situation during their ‘goal mouth melee.’

“By taking away everything from our house, did she solve the problem? If she could do this to me at this time, I wonder what she is capable of even if we were to make up. Lately, I have been under a lot of pressure from my club.

I know that should not be an excuse to mistreat anyone, but surely, why do you take off when things are not going smoothly. For instance, today things don’t look so good for us at Leopards. We are facing very trying and tough times. Does that mean I should also walk away from the club? posed Kasaya.

“I am only human and in the heat of an argument you can say things that you did not intend. I am sorry if I may have offended her. But this is over, I can’t take her back.”
