Ujuzisoka boys under-14 side thrashed EFB Salou 4-0 as the Costa Daurada International Youth tournament kicked off in the Spanish City at the weekend.

The Kenyan team was dominated mostly by players from Juja Preparatory School and they had an upper hand in every department.

Bill Kibet Towett was the toast of the Kenyan side as he scored two goals. His first was in the 20th minute and then he added another one just five minutes later sending his team to the break with a healthy lead.

Come the second half and Ujuzisoka continued to dominate in the match and their efforts were rewarded almost after resumption when George Murage scored the third goal.

Then Mathew Omondi completed the Kenyan rout with a late goal giving his side a dream start to the event.

In the boys’ under 10 category Ujuzisoka rallied to hold Mig Sargia 1-1.

This 7 aside match lasting forty minutes thrilled the whole stadium with plenty of suspense as the two sides worked hard to  out do each other.

Powerful cross

The Spaniards scored first in the first half with young Alonso Garcia dribbling his way from half field before making a powerful cross to Idoia Pedro the only girl in the Spanish team who made a wonderful header straight into the net.

The Kenyan boys replied with many well calculated moves and shots which missed the target.

In the second half minutes before the final whistle, Rich Roberts, a student of Castle Manor in Nairobi made a straight pass to Marvin Kowero, a long time striker at Ujuzisoka and student of Moi Educational Centre in Nairobi, in the box who successfully converted the ball into the opponents goal to the amusement of all spectators in the 5,000 capacity Cambrils local stadium in Salou.

The Costa Daurada International Youth Soccer tournament opened with more than 40 matches being played in 15 local stadiums.

Kenyan representatives, Ujuzisoka have entered  two teams boys under- 10 and boys under-14.
