Kiambu, KENYA: The wealthy in Kiambu County have been urged to invest there to boost the creation of jobs.

Governor William Kabogo said the county boasts a long list of wealthy individuals who he said can help in uplifting the living standards of the residents.

Kabogo said his administration is willing to give incentives to those who may wish to invest in the county.

He said the duty of developing the county is a shared responsibility between the government and residents including the elite from the area.

SUCCESS STORY

“I want every Kiambu resident to be part and parcel of our success story. I urge those who have been blessed (with wealth) to partner with us in propelling the county to greater economic heights by investing in the area,” he said.

The governor urged the youth to embrace agriculture, saying currently giving good returns to those in it.

He urged the youth to form groups so that they can benefit from the Uwezo and Youth funds.

“Agriculture has been largely unexploited and yet if fully embraced, it can create jobs for many of our jobless youth. We want to help them venture into agribusiness and other businesses by giving them soft loans,” Kabogo said
