First Lady Margaret Kenyatta joins elite athletes for a cocktail in London

Nairobi, Kenya: First Lady Margaret Kenyatta Friday night joined elite athletes at a cocktail on the Thames River organized by Virgin London Marathon.

The cocktail reception was held in honour of the past champions of the major world marathons where those who are due to take in the London Marathon tomorrow watched video clips of the winners of the past marathons around the world.

At the reception, which was held in a yacht on the Thames River near the London Tower Bridge, the First Lady interacted freely with the elite runners among them Wilson Kipsang, Doreen Chebii, Abraham Mutai, Stanley Biwott and Mo Farah of the United Kingdom among others.

The First Lady wished all the athletes best wishes in the marathon tomorrow and more so the Kenyan runners.

The elite athletes congratulated the First Lady for her unprecedented bold step to run in a 42 km marathon to ensure Kenyan women and children access quality healthcare .
