Raila Odinga, it’s time to move on to other things

By Kodanga Japheth

I have to admit that I have been Raila Odinga’s follower and admirer since 1992 when I was still in primary school. I still do.

Not because he is a fellow Luo, but because of his beliefs for a Better Kenya, Stronger Economy, Good Infrastructure, Equitable distribution of Resources, a United Kenya and Democratic Space to name but a few.

Having said that, I have to salute Raila for the struggles he has undergone to see Kenya reach where it has today.

I know it has not been a smooth journey but one characterised by sweat, blood and tears.

Many have seen some fruits of his struggles but we are yet to realise the full potential of Kenya as a country.

Having said this, I add that it is time he took some time off politics to reflect.

His support base has since shifted, and going forward, it is time Raila thought about the kind of politics he wants to engage in. It’s time for him to re-invest himself or otherwise, retire to other things, for he has proved he has the energy and drive.
