Motorists to pay more on fuel in new Energy Regulatory Commission prices

By Standard Digital Reporter

NAIROBI, KENYA: Motorists will have to pay additional coin for super petrol and diesel following fuel prices adjustment by the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC).

In its monthly fuel adjustment, ERC increased super petrol and diesel prices by Sh1.34 and Sh3.70 per litre respectively Nairobi residents.

Households relying on kerosene however were spared in the new adjustment with the commission reducing Kerosene prices by Sh2.03 per litre.

The new prices will be enforced by Sunday midnight.

“The purpose of the fuel pricing regulations is to cap pump prices of the products which are already in the country such that the importation and other prudently incurred costs are recovered while ensuring fair prices,” said a statement from the commission.

The Commission said maximum prices in other towns have been adjusted accordingly
