Mombasa County unearths about 1000 ghost workers

MOMBASA, KENYA: An audit of employees of the Mombasa County government has revealed that about 1,000 workers inherited from the defunct Mombasa Municipal Council are ghost workers earning about Sh50 million cumulatively without detection.
